Acknowledging that women can be just as physically abusive and violent as men does NOT absolve male abusers of their crimes. Nor does it dismiss female victims claims of domestic violence towards them by said male abusers.
It just means that women are capable of doing bad things to people just like men.

If I hear one more "but he called her this, and was as toxic as she...he wasn't granted a win in the UK case Blah blah blah" about the Johnny Depp case I'm going to scream.
Firstly, British courts are so fucking bad it's almost laughable. Domestic violence is almost never prosecuted, and our newspapers have become incredibly corrupt for the longest time (let's not forget the phone tapping of a murder victim, and withholding evidence to the police.) As a UK resident I can promise you that our police force, and courts are terrible. Thousands of DV survivors are let down, including children, yearly.
Was no one else listening to the recordings played in court of her ADMITTING to hitting him??
And people saying that his initial story regarding his finger doesn't match his current story. I'm sorry, are we now going to blame abuse survivors for lying to cover their abuse? Is that what we're doing now? Even though psychologists and survivors have told us time and time again that they lied because of embarrassment, fear, and a plethora of other reasons.

That man was abused, and what hope do other survivors have for justice if she wins purely because she's a woman.

His lawyers repeatedly said that it wasn’t a fair trial because the judge conveniently ignored all his evidence. Also there is circumstancial but undeniable evidence that Judge Justice Nicol who ruled the verdict against Depp is close to both Heard and the defendant of The Sun libel case Dan Wootton (who published the ‘wife-beater’ article) and thus biased.
And about the text conversations, they prove nothing, because Depp is simply lashing out as an abuse victim who’s confiding in a friend. Also, in general, the UK trial wasn’t really Depp against Heard, but Depp against The Sun newspaper. Judge Nicol didn’t rule that the alleged abuse did happen, but rather that the newspaper article relied on sound probability that it did and was right at the time.
"ReemDepp" quoted something that Johnny Depp said about his kids while on the stand. The issue is that they did not quote the whole thing, leaving the door open to shit holes of false propaganda such as "popculturedie in2009"
This account goes on to claim Depp is a liar because there are public records of Amber and his kids together and texts from Lily-Rose at the beginning and during of their relationship. (Still based off the "ReemDepp" quote tweet.)

Johnny Depp was asked "And at the end of your relationship, how was Ms.Heard's relationship with your children ?"
Depp went on to reply: "Non-existent. (..) My children refused to be around her anymore."
He never insinuated that his kids never had a relationship with Heard. He never said that they always hated her.

Amber Heard punched Johnny Depp multiple times, threw things at him, cut his finger off, framed him for multiple felonies, smeared his name in the press, ruined his career, physically and verbally attacked him, abused him, pushed him back into depression, intentionally publicly humiliated him, and literally made fun of him because he wouldn’t hit her back after she attacked him.
